Workshop Brothers opens fourth cafe in Glen Waverley
Amid the butchers, bakers and dumpling joints of Glen Waverley's Kingsway, a little piece of caffeinated heaven has landed, offering subtle beats and sweet service.
Brothers Nolan and Brian Taing and business partner Joe La have brought the fourth branch of Workshop to multicultural Glen Waverley, home ground and inspiration to many of the team.
Unlike the first three caffeine-focused branches (one in Glen Huntly and two in Melbourne's CBD), this one brings all-day Asian fusion dining to the strip, while not forgetting excellent Axil coffee.
Sri Lankan-born chef Shanil Demel (ex-Maze, Workshop Glen Huntly) has designed a zingy menu inspired by the team's various Asian backgrounds.
Breakfast can take you from sweet Hong Kong waffles with chocolate parfait and pumpkin caramel to XO baked beans, and century egg with pork belly and doughnut sticks.
As the day peels on, there are baos, betel leaf scallops, hot curries, kimchi risotto and five-spice chicken wings, perfect for lunch, dinner or drinking snacks to share.
Studio Esteta has created a captivating and futuristic interior that nods to retro Asian restaurant motifs while imbuing the long, creamy space with a sense of quiet style via large circular openings, the circle being a symbol of unity.
Open daily 7am-11pm.
