Chef Sean Moran is set to jettison his tree-change restaurant at Mount Tomah in the Blue Mountains.

The founder of Bondi Beach stalwart Sean's Panaroma has been in the kitchen at the Botanic Gardens restaurant – which some of his team cheekily refer to as Mount Panaroma – since late 2013.

But the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust, which manages the property, has called for expressions of interest to "take over the existing licensed restaurant premises".

A spokeswoman for the property says the decision to sound out potential new operators was a mutual one and that the lease on the food operations officially ends on January 31 next year.

She said there is room to explore new uses for the space, "if someone was interested in doing something like a sourdough bakery or micro brewery".

Moran says simply: "I've just had enough of the two restaurant juggle. I'm unsure on the departure date at the moment, either end of January or earlier if they find someone suitable."

Mount Tomah is a 10-minute drive from his much-loved Blue Mountains farm.
