Tedder and Woodroffe

With the ever-present sea breeze and whitewashed timber furniture in the outdoor dining area, there's no forgetting the beach is nearby. The menu follows through on this theme, presenting a very accessible choice of casually coastal fare that will almost certainly satisfy, if not bedazzle. Pacific oysters come unadorned, fresh and creamy with just a wedge of lemon, a simple wakame and soy dressing, or a daily special such as zesty tomato salsa. Main courses are similarly unpretentious. Whether it's a generously proportioned, tender eye fillet with lashings of slow-roasted mushrooms mopped up with chips, or a salmon fillet atop a fritter of crunchy fresh corn kernels, it's more about tried and true flavours than haute cuisine. A simple pavlova with lemon curd, summer fruit and whipped cream completes the meal, and by this time the message should be loud and clear: relax, you're at the coast after all.
